The PGDRM Program
This is a rigorous, One and Half Years program on Retail Management leading to Post Graduate Qualification in Retail Management accredited by Retailers Association of India (rai). This program is accredited by Retailers Association of India with their significant involvement in curricular design, professional inputs, internship and placement. IMIS is also an institutional member of the Retailers Association of India (rai).

Career Prospects
Retail Industry in India is experiencing an unprecedented growth and will continue to grow strongly in the coming years. But the country is not having adequate number of retail trained professionals. To bridge the gap between manpower requirement and supply students can opt for a very bright career in retail.

Learning Process
This program includes classroom teaching, professional seminars, evaluation and practical internships in rai member retail companies such as Arvind Brands, Ebony, Globus, Levi, McDonalds, Pantaloon, Piramyd, Planet M, Reliance, RPG, Shoppers Stop, Trent, Titan, Viveks, BigBazaar, Raymond, Lifestyle, Bharat Petroleum, Hypercity to name a few. The program tries to focus on all basic as well as advanced concepts on the emerging retail business in the country.

National & International Exposure
To provide sufficient exposure and bring in practical orientation among students, all are taken to Mumbai for a special 10-day Retail Induction Program (RIP) to be organized in collaboration with rai where the students get special inputs from Retail Industry Professionals at Mumbai. During this Retail Induction Program at Mumbai the students are also taken to various successful retail outlets to observe best practices in the retail industry. IMIS will make all arrangements for the students travel and stay at Mumbai at a concessional rate to be borne by each student.

Efforts will also be made by the institute for the top performing and desirous students of the class to go on international retail tour to countries where retailing industry is fairly developed.

Internship and Placement
For successful transfer of learning, an internship program with a retail company is essential. Further, placement is the grand finale of all efforts that is put in by a student. In both of these aspects along with IMIS the Retailers Association of India (rai) will have significant involvement and contribution to support these activities among its member retail companies. Candidates taking admission in PGPRM program have to bear TA/DA expenditure for the 6-months internship program at various retail locations of the country.

Award

On successful completion of the program the student will be awarded the "Post Graduate Diploma in Retail Management. "Apart form this institute confers the following awards in the convocation.

Gold Medal
Gold Medal is awarded to the student securing highest marks in aggregate without any improvement, i.e. the 1st Rank holder, of the program.
Best Students Award
Best Students Award is awarded to the best student of the batch.
Term Topper Award
This is a cash award conferred to the first three rank holders in each term.
